When iDAF is installed, a number of files are placed on your computer. As iDAF is used, other files are generated.

Long file names are word-wrapped to a second line to save space. References to folder locations on your system are abbreviated, as follows:

iDAF_EventLog.txt

This text file is created and appended to as you use iDAF. It contains information about application activity and is generally used for determining the cause of errors and/or problems.

iDAF_ScanLog.txt

This text file contains information about the file scanning process, including audio files found and the status of processing the files.

iDAF.ini

AppDir

Preferences file that contains user-defined preferences, including station identification and cart filters. In the Pro version, registration information is stored in this file.

DAFScanResults.EIF

AppDir

This file is created each time a scan of audio files is completed.  It contains the results of the file scan in binary format.

iDAF_BarSettings.dat

This file contains the iDAF toolbar settings.

iDAF_GridSettings.dat

AppDir

This file contains the iDAF cart display table settings.

*.CCF

As a default, when a group of cart masks is exported from Preferences, the file has an extendion of ".CCF".

*.FLDRLIST

As a default, when a list of folders to be scanned is saved, the file has an extension of ".FLDRLIST".

As a default, when a custom filter is saved to file, the file has an extension of ".FLT".

*.GSF

Grid Settings File. As a default, when a set of grid settings is saved, the file has an extension ".GSF".

*.LST

Deprecated. A saved list of folders to be scanned in the original file format used by iDAF.Folder lists stored in this format are handled automatically by iDAF for backward compatibility.

*.MSK

AppDir

Deprecated and no longer used. In earlier versions of iDAF, the default file extension for exported cart masks.

Some iDAF installations include additional documentation files. These files are typically PDF files and are placed in the application folder. Additional documentation files may include an on-disk Operations Manual and Quick Start Guide.
