The base hardware and operating system requirements to run iDAF:

Operating System: Windows 98 SE, Me or Windows NT, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP, Windows Vista and up, and for servers, Windows 2000 Server and up.

CPU: Pentium processor or faster

RAM Memory: 48 MB RAM or more for Windows 98 SE and Me, 128 MB RAM or more for Windows NT, Windows 2000 or XP, and 1 GB RAM or more for Vista and later operating systems. For servers, a minimum of 1 GB RAM is recommended.

Display: A minimum of 800 x 600 resolution, 1024 x 768 or greater is highly recommended.

Hard Disk: At least 15 MB free disk space for the application, support files and documentation.

Network: A LAN card (NIC), known to be working, if you will be connecting to a LAN to access audio files.

Printer: To print reports (registered Pro version only), you must have at least one printer installed.

If you have a large inventory of audio files, additional RAM memory may be desirable if you experience slow inventory load times. Inventory data is kept in memory and insufficient RAM will cause disk-swapping, which slows performance.

The installation package for iDAF includes separate builds of iDAF for legacy operating systems (prior to Windows XP) and current operating systems. The installer automatically detects the operating system you are using and selects the correct file to install. This allows for additional features and functionality for newer operating systems while still allowing the software to be used on legacy operating systems that do not support some of the new features. Notable features not available on legacy operating systems include direct export of reports to PDF files and multi-select of filter criteria when filtering data via the column drop-down lists
