Here are the latest changes, enhancements and corrections to XStudio Recorder by version number and date. For information on less-recent changes and enhancements, see the Revision History topic.

Version 1.4.0.210 - 02/13/2023

1.Important Change. The minimum operating system requirement for XStudio Recorder is now Windows 7. If you attempt to install XStudio Recorder on an older operating system, the installation program will advise you the OS is not supported.

2.Important Change. XStudio Recorder now requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015‑2019 Redistributable software be installed. Previously, the redistributable software was the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. During installation, this software will be installed automatically if not present or an older version is present on the system.

3.Enhancement. XStudio Recorder now detects Windows 11 and adjusts its display accordingly.

4.Enhancement. When installing XStudio Recorder and the audio engine service, a new beta option to use Audio Science ASIO drivers instead of the default WDM (WAVE) drivers has been added to the audio engine service installer. Note this option applies only to users who have a supported Audio Science audio card installed on the host system and have installed the ASI ASIO drivers.

5.Change. XStudio Recorder includes an updated audio engine service that includes minor bug fixes and improved debugging logs.

6.Change. The underlying database engine has been updated to NexusDB version 4.7001.

7.Fix. If there was only one scheduled event, XStudio Recorder would execute the event only one time and not execute it again until the system was restarted. This behavior has been corrected.

8.Fix. On some systems, communications with an attached audio switcher were garbled. This behavior has been corrected.

Version 1.3.0.195 - 10/10/2019

1.Enhancement. Previously, if the audio engine was not running when XStudio Recorder launched and XStudio Recorder could not start the engine, the list of available audio devices for playback and recording would be empty until XStudio Recorder was restarted. Now, if the audio engine is later started, XStudio Recorder will update the device list, eliminating the need to restart XStudio Recorder to populate the device lists.
