Trouble with Saving Files

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If you are unable to save extended inventory files - or any other files, for that matter - here are some things to check.

1.Available Disk Space.  One reason you may have trouble saving files is a lack of free disk space on the target drive. Check to confirm you have enough space on your hard drive to accommodate the file you are trying to save. If you are saving an extended inventory file (*.EIF), the disk space requirements are ~2400 bytes per record.  An inventory list of 1,000 audio files would therefore require approximately 2.4MB in available disk space.

2.User Rights.  In order to save files, you must have the appropriate privileges in the folder in which you wish to save the file. If you can see the folder and are sure there is enough available disk space, check with your administrator to be sure you have privileges to save files in the target folder.
