Auto-recording for long-form programming!
XStudio Recorder is an easy-to-use, powerful audio auto-recording system used to capture program content for use with XStudio, DCS™ and Maestro™ radio automation systems.
Automatic recordings can be initiated by a relay received from the program service or they can be scheduled using XStudio Recorder's built-in event scheduling system. XStudio Recorder utilizes standard sound cards that appear in the Windows device list. Simultaneous recordings are supported, up to the number of available discreet input channels on your sound card(s).
XStudio Recorder offers powerful features and delivers a reliable auto-recording experience.
- Automatic recordings can be initiated via relays from the program service or as a scheduled, time-driven event.
- Recorded audio can be stored in .DAF, .DFF or .WAV file formats.
- Record more than one audio item simultaneously, up to the limit of available input (recording) channels on your sound card(s).
- .DAF audio files created with XStudio Recorder are compatible with XStudio, DCS, and Maestro.
- .WAV audio files created with XStudio Recorder are usable by any application that handles this file type, including players and multi-track editors.
- Completed recordings can be automatically copied to a secondary location. You can record to a local drive, for instance, and have the recording automatically copied to a server.
- The user interface is simple, easy to understand and customizable.
- The software can be used on a standard PC using a standard sound card. A multi-channel sound card is required if you desire more than one simultaneous recording.
- Complete standalone application – no dependency on the broadcast automation system resources.
Application Requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 7 Pro or later
- CPU Speed: 1 GHz or greater
- RAM Memory: 4GB minimum, 8GB recommended
- VGA Display: A minimum of 800 x 600 resolution, 1024 x 768 or greater is recommended.
- Audio Card: An audio card supported by the operating system - at least one recording input available to XStudio Recorder. If you wish to make more than one recording simultaneously, a multichannel sound card is required.
- Default Print Device: You must have a default print device assigned. XStudio Recorder can produce printed reports and lists and expects to have an available default printer. If you do not have a printer, you can use one of the available non-printing devices like the Microsoft XPS Document Writer.
- Disk Space: At least 45 MB free disk space for XStudio Recorder, audio engine, documentation and the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable software. XStudio Recorder Database may consume 20MB or more, depending on the number of Tasks, Actions and Scheduled Events. Additionally, you must have sufficient available disk space to accommodate carts (audio files) that are stored locally.
- A 100 mbs or better LAN card (NIC): The OS’ TCP/IP client must be installed on the PC. XStudio Recorder uses networking to communicate with the host audio engine.
To use XStudio Recorder, you need access to your automation system's audio files (.DAF files). This means you need to be connected to the network (LAN) in which the automation system is running. Be sure that your system administrator has provided you the necessary access rights to these file locations. For audio files, you will need both read and write access.
