Legacy Voice Tracker Release Notes

Release notes include changes, enhancements and corrections by date and version number of the application.

Voice Tracker has been superceded by XStudio Voice Tracker, which offers more features and flexibility than the original product. For more information on functional improvements, click here.

Version 1.24 - 01/21/2005

  1. Added code to handle logs with bad cart length values causing Voice Tracker to stop with an "Overflow" error. Now, Voice Tracker will continue to run, but log times and hour totals will be incorrect.

Version 1.23 - 01/19/2005

  1. Corrected a problem with displayed log times and hourly total display. Voice Tracker will now display correct information for both the older 4-character and newer 5-character cart lengths.

Version 1.22 - 11/11/2004

  1. Updated the the log selection calendar to support dates beyond 1/31/2005.

Version 1.21b - 01/19/2003

  1. Corrections were made to ensure newer-style logs, which may include 5-character time values for log length and directives, are displayed properly. The 5-character log values are generated by later versions of CMED and third-party log editors.

Version 1.20 - 05/02/2000

  1. Support for the KTC VoiceTracker Controller has been added. The controller is used to turn "On-Air" lights on and off as the user is doing a voice tracking session. The controller is available separately from dcsTools.com and provides a way to warn users about entering a booth when voice tracking is occurring.

Version 1.19 - 01/03/2000

  1. A bug in the auto-track sequence has been corrected. If the last element of an hour was a voice track cart and auto-track was enabled, the program would go into an endless loop when attempting to play the intro of the cart coming out of the voice track. This has been corrected.

  2. The calendar display for selection of a log to voice track was displaying a date from 1994 instead of today's date. This was caused by the program setting the current date based on a 2-digit year. It has been corrected by setting the initial date with a 4-digit year.

  3. Support for up to 10 stations has been added to Voice Tracker.

  4. The [F10] keystroke, when used with the hourly log display, would cause Voice Tracker to exit the application. The exit application keystroke has been changed to [Alt-F10], as was originally intended, to match the DCS exit application keystroke.

  5. Additional error trapping for recording failures has been added, corresponding to DCS' additions in this area. All DCS error codes generated when a recording fails are now supported.

  6. A modification has made made to handle picking up song intro times more accurately. If the intro time value doesn't calculate to a valid number of seconds, the intro countdown display will not appear.

  7. A modification has been made to the record routine for voice tracks to make the valid start date of the cart one day before the scheduled log date. This allows the voice track cart to be loaded successfully and played in a situation where the previous day's logged content for the 11pm hour ends before midnight. Previously, if this happened, the voice track carts would not load and/or play because the start date for the cart was tomorrow, as viewed by DCS and Maestro.

  8. A change has been made in Voice Tracker to correct a problem with loading the log when the log is already opened by both DCS and Maestro. Previously, Voice Tracker would fail to load the log and report back that the file could not be found. Voice Tracker now requires that SHARE.EXE be loaded to accommodate file sharing correctly.
